The Family Assistance Division administers programs funded by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant designed to provide benefits and services to needy families so children may be cared for in their own homes or in the homes of relatives. These services also promote job preparation, work and marriage, and the prevention of out-of-wedlock pregnancy.
Programs Provided:
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) (cash assistance, employment and training services);
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (food stamps, employment and training services);
Food and Nutrition Programs (emergency food assistance, programs for seniors, healthy eating activities);
Child care assistance
