During a recent visit to JREC a friend of mine was told to wear a mask or be turned away. This is after the Mayor, Lenny Curry, lifted the City mask mandate. When my friend challenged the the legality of a government agency to try and enforce any kind of mask policy after the city mandate was lifted, three officers surrounded the individual and a Detective blatantly lied to the person, saying "Jacksonville Sheriffs Office is a private business". The Sheriff is an elected position. JSO does not exist to turn a profit. It is not an enterprise or a corporation.
